It’s that time of year again; the clocks have been put back and the scarfs and hats have been pulled from the wardrobe as we prepare for another winter. However, it also means we can look forward to 10 days of world-class jazz as London puts on it’s anual jazz festival. This is one of the finest music events in the calender and it’s exciting to see London’s concert halls, bars, cafes and record shops full of jazz musicians and concert goers enjoying the music and having a good time.
I’m pleased to be performing two gigs with the John Martin Quartet as part of the festival this year. We have been working on new material, so we’re looking forward to giving this music an airing in public. Tonight we perform at the Mascara Bar in Stoke Newington, and on Friday 16 November we perform at Oliver’s Jazz Bar in Greenwhich.
I will also be drumming with the Frank Griffith big band on Wednesday 14 November as we play the Bull’s Head in Barnes. This gig will feature music from the recently released CD Holland Park Non-Stop. Visit the jazz festival’s website for more details.
Full details of all these gigs can be found on the events page. I hope to see you there or at one of the many great gigs happening across London over the next few weeks!
