Described as the definitive Southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynrd’s combination of blues and hard-rock is probably best exemplified in this epic two-part anthem. Half ballad, half up-tempo guitar solo, the song was a staple at their live performances, with the band often jamming on the outro for up to 15 minutes.
The guitar solo on this original studio version lasts a mere 5 minutes and 12 seconds in comparison, but is a pretty raucous affair nonetheless. The rhythm section hits would typically be on cue for a live gig, but we’ve made a note of how many times to repeat each section so you can jam-along as if you were a member of the band.
This is one to really let loose on so turn-up the stereo, put the “do not disturb” sign on the door, and rock-out!
